MODERN WARFARE 2 SCAR-H EXTENDED MAGS?

im trying to unlock the extended mags for the scar by using the fmj attachment, but whenever i get kills (up to 50 now) it remains as 2/40 kills... why? do i need to take off my stopping power perk? plz help, thx.
