Time to renew lease and Landlord has bumped his head!?

There is no recourse. Regardless of how ridiculous you think it is and what you would do as a landlord, he is fully within his rights to request these doents. They are all very common (the car insurance is standard in apartments) and he is not asking for anything out of the ordinary.
