Chess opening questions?

Hello all, I had some questions on chess openings. As black, what is a pretty strong e5 opening against white's e4? What is a strong opening for black if white plays d4? What is a strong positional opening for black that will set up for a good finish? Do you play and/or have experience with the Giuoco Piano? If so, could you give me some tips on playing it and if not suggestions on books or websites I could go to to learn more about it some of these openings?
